Record Breaking Event For Largest Online Gathering of Pets & OwnersMay 26, 2020
WE DID IT!
On 23 May 2020, 2:30pm, the record was set! With 293 participants with pets, perromart has set a record with Singapore Book of Records for the largest online gathering of pets and owners ! 293kg of food was to be donated, but the generous sponsors of the event and perromart have come together to donate the remaining amount, bringing the amount of food donated to the shelters to a close at 500kg!
This virtual event was created with an aim in mind -- to enable the bond between pets and humans, even during the ongoing Circuit Breaker whilst doing something meaningful.
For every human that comes onto the virtual event with a pet, 1kg of dry food will be donated to the animal shelters! This circuit breaker has not only cast a dry spell on all adoptions but has also caused shelters to struggle financially as they are unable to raise funds. The hope was to raise 500kg of food for the shelters!
During the 30 minutes zoom call hosted by radio DJ Jill, from Kiss92, pet owners were not only able to connect with each other and interact with other like-minded individuals but also had an educational session with a guest veterinarian, Dr. Tham from Jireh Veterinary Clinic.
“It was really fun being able to spot my friends on the call and sharing a photo moment of us setting the record together! It was not only a fun and innovative event to have during this circuit breaker but I was happy to be part of this great initiative! I’m definitely looking forward to more events like this!” says Jeanette Tan, one of perromart's long term customer!
The beneficiaries who will be receiving these food donations are Causes for Animals - Singapore, F7-Friends of Seven, HOPE Dog Rescue, SGPawsAngels, MercyLight and Animal Lovers League. Home to countless animals who are abandoned or strays, these shelters need your help more than ever. Even after this event, the shelters would still require constant food or supplies. Help make a donation to these shelters or consider adopting or fostering a pet! Every little bit counts!
