INGREDIENTS ACTIONS
CHAMOMILE (Matricaria chamomilla) Chamomile contains volatile oils, flavonoids and lactones with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties to help soothe and heal inflamed skin, infections, and wounds in and around the ear. The polysaccharide components are immunostimulating. It has been used as an antiseptic with analgesic (pain-relieving) and counterirritant activity.
GOLDENSEAL (Hydrastis canadensis) Goldenseal contains alkaloids that exhibit a broad spectrum of antibiotic activity and act as contact disinfectants. It is an anti-inflammatory for ulcers and irritations of the ear. Goldenseal soothes inflamed mucous membranes, fights pathogens, and bacterial and fungal infections of the skin. It increases immune response and possesses antimicrobial, astringent, and anti-parasitic properties.
ECHINACEA ANGUSTIFOLIA (Echinacea angustifolia) Echinacea angustifolia is commonly used for infections. It contains many active chemicals such as polysaccharides, flavonoids, caffeic acid, essential oils, alkylamides and polyacetylenes that have strong immune-stimulating and anti-microbial (antiviral and antibacterial) properties. Polysaccharides increase antibody production, raise and stimulate white blood cell counts, reduce inflammation, inhibit bacterial formation of hyaluronidase and promote healing.
MYRRH (Commiphora molmol) Myrrh is an effective antiseptic with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, which helps control bacterial infection (antibiotic action). It can be used as an astringent to relieve irritated skin and enhance healing.
TEA TREE OIL (Melaleuca alternifolia) Tea Tree Oil contains essential oils, which have germicidal properties. An effective antiseptic, it is beneficial for fungal (yeast) and bacterial infections. Tea Tree Oil is often used and recommended for ear infections and to eliminate bad odors. It has anti-inflammatory and penetrating qualities that make it effective for treating infected wounds. It is non-irritating for skin and mucous membranes. In pets, it is especially helpful in treating external parasites.
