The Naturally Gentle & Healthy Flea & Tick Spray from Richard's Organics is formulated to kill fleas and ticks while repelling mosquitos. You should treat your dog with a natural sulfate- and paraben-free treatment without exposing you or your furry family to harsh chemicals. Secure to use with kids and pets, keep your family scratching and free to worry!

FLEAS

In warm-weathered climates or during the summer months, when air temperatures and humidity levels are high, dogs and other warm-blooded animals are particularly vulnerable to catching fleas. Dogs can catch fleas, or from the environment, from other furry friends. To climb on the' host' (your dog) and then bite the animal, fleas use their powerful back legs. These bites can cause itching, hair-loss & hot-spots from itching, inflamed lesions and even skin infections. You may also notice small dirt-like particles on your pet – which is flea feces and digested blood.

The female fleas can live on your pet for up to a few weeks, and during that period they can lay about 20-30 eggs a day. In your home area, some eggs can hatch into larvae on your pet, while the others fall off, where they feed off skin scales and other organic matter. Both the dog and the inside & outside home conditions must be handled by pet parents. We recommend using Richard’s Organics® Flea & Tick Shampoo & Spray in conjunction with our Richard’s Organics Premise Treatment for Fleas – made with 100% natural Boric Acid.

TICKS

Ticks are parasitic arthropods, such as your dog, that attach themselves and feed off warm hosts. In wooded areas, in long grass, and in trees, ticks are commonly found. Dogs who spend a lot of time outside are likely at any given time to find a tick. The tick will connect and lock its mouth into a crevice or fold when your dog does, and begin feeding on blood, sometimes even feeding daily. In addition to being nasty, ticks, due to a high risk of transmitting diseases such as Lyme, Ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, or Babesiosis, cause significant concern for animals and people alike. Anemia, joint-swelling, fever, and paralysis may also be caused by a tick bite. If your pet displays any signs of illness, and you suspect he/she was bitten by a tick, consult your veterinarian immediately. Always check your pet for ticks if they’ve been running around outside, especially in wooded areas.
