Help for the treatment and prevention of recurrence in dogs of superficial dermatitis associated with infections of Staphylococcus intermedius. For initial infection control or where deep pyoderma occurs, antibiotic therapy is recommended.

The Chlorhexidine in PYOHEX Conditioner acts to remove bacteria in situ by binding to hair. By destroying the cell membrane and precipitating the contents of the cell, Chlorhexidine destroys bacteria. The PYOHEX Conditioner tightly binds to the skin and hair, resulting in residual action for up to 14 days. As Chlorhexidine is poorly absorbed through the skin, when used as guided, PYOHEX Conditioner is completely healthy.
PYOHEX Conditioner is a leave-on medicated coat conditioning lotion intended to be used as prescribed by your veterinarian in combination with Dermcare Pyohex Medicated Shampoo or any other suitable product. Specifically formulated for canine skin, the PYOHEX Conditioner is pH neutral.
As suggested by your veterinarian, first shampoo with an appropriate antibacterial shampoo, such as Pyohex Medicated Shampoo. Apply to the damp coat by spreading a small amount evenly over both hands into the palm of your hand, then rub gently into the coat over the entire body. Using about 1 mL per kilogram of your dog's body weight. After use, do not rinse.
